Beacon Education

Beacon Education (previously West Somerset Academies) has 6 schools and 4 nurseries located in Minehead and Williton that work together to promote high academic standards, develop the minds of its students and take pride in individuality. Working with children aged 0 to 13 years of age, they have one of the largest catchment areas in England stretching from Devon, across the top of Exmoor, and right up to the Quantock Hills.

Whilst Beacon Education reap the benefits of a large organization, they respect and nurture the unique character of each school, and work in partnership with the Diocese of Bath and Wells, the Extended Learning Academies Network, and the Moorland Federation to utilize the support a very large network provides.

The 6 schools and 4 nurseries within the Trust have all taken part in the project to have new signage installed at each site to unify their branding and participation in the Trust's endeavors. These include; Minehead Middle School, Danesfield Church of England Middle School, Minefield First School, Minehead Pre School, St Michael's Church of England First School, Old Cleeve Church of England First School, Teddy Bears Nursery, St Peter's Church of England First School, St Peter's Nursery and the King Edward Road Nursery. THE BRIEF

Branded Displays

Wanting to make dedicated spaces for the Beacon branding within Minehead Middle School, the brief included recreating the Beacon Education MAT logo and messaging in coloured acrylic in various spaces around the school.

We used a White Acrylic, faced in a printed gloss laminated vinyl to replicate each colour within the logo and text surrounding. As you can see from the images above, we cut a template out to assist in perfectly aligning the installation onto the chosen space.

We are also able to achieve this effect with Printed Clear Acrylic (Perspex)to give a 'halo' effect, and can also source a wide variety of coloured acrylic to match your vision. All signage and display projects will go through our in-house Design Team to create a design proof of the finished project. This allows you to make edits and changes wherever needed before production commences so you are 100% satisfied with the outcome.

Behind each letter and shape is a hidden stand-off locator to offer depth and a contemporary finish. Pending the finished look you are trying to achieve, placement, and size of the media needing a locator, we can provide super high-tack double-sided locators like here, or metal locators to hold signage parallel to the wall.
