DIY Signage and Stand-Off Lettering for El Cabello Salon

THE CLIENT

New Salon, El Cabello opening in early May in Wigston, Leicester, got in contact to get some new external signage, but due to the distance and budget requirements, needed an easy-to-follow DIY installation from a distance.

El Cabello's new site on Launceston Road in Wigston will have its grand opening on Monday 9th May, a new unisex salon catering to all local clients looking for a new do!

THE BRIEF

El Cabello got in contact looking for a sleek and contemporary signage installation for their new site in Wigston. Knowing exactly the style and vision they had for their fascia board, it was easy to pass over details to our in-house Design Studio with the panel size, text font, spacing, and social media handles to draw up versions of the proof sheet to show our client so they could pick the aspects they liked, and those needing to be tweaked.

Due to the size of the acrylic stand-off lettering text font, it was decided to scale up the lettering so that each could support a sturdy enough snapfix locator to the rough sawn timber backing board.

We will always keep our client's design elements and budget in mind when drawing up quotes. When discussing installation, the cost was too great for traveling to Leicester from our HQ in Devon so a savvy solution was created!

THE SOLUTION

It was decided that each letter would be made from black acrylic, mounted to the wooden backing board using self-adhesive high-tack locators.

We cut, weeded, and packaged each letter and social media icon, including a template guide for the stand-off locator fixings sized to fit El Cabello's fascia board perfectly. This meant on arrival the template can be used like a paint-by-numbers, making for a first-class DIY installation!
