Uffculme Academy Trust is an established and values-driven MAT (Multi-Academy Trust) in the beautiful South West with a simple, yet powerful mission, to deliver an excellent education to all of our children so that they can go on to lead happy and successful lives which make a positive contribution to their communities.

Over the past few years, we have been heavily involved in working with many multi-academy trusts in the South West including Acorn MAT for new external signage across the schools, and Beacon Education for a rebrand and new school signage.

THE BRIEF

Display Spaces

Following the successful large scale custom printed wallpaper installation in the new cafeteria area, talks began immediately as to what else could be done to bring areas of the school to life.

Two areas noted were internal office spaces that could benefit from a printed contravision window film installation (a one-way vinyl perfect for meeting and conference rooms), and a blank half-wall at the top of the stairs leading into the main foyer.

The Holyrood Team knew they didn't want to re-paint this space and wanted to use to wall to encourage students, but wanted something to bring a contrasting display to the blank wall, illuminated by the large windows nearby.

THE SOLUTION

Flat-Panel Internal Displays

ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) an incredibly versatile signage material, and is used more often now than sheet aluminium due to its budget friendly pricing, adaptability when it comes to shaping and vinyl facing, the fact its lightweight for mounting, as well as its hard wearing and long-lasting properties.

ACM is two smooth aluminium sheets, sandwiched either side of a strong plastic core and is only 3-5mm thick. ACM can be direct printed for short-term signage displays, or in most cases, is vinyl wrapped for long-lasting internal and external signage like here for Holyrood Academy.

Here the entire panel has been wrapped with a solid black matt finish high-tack vinyl. All our vinyl applications come with an overlaminate that offers either a 1, 5 or 7-year guarantee, is UV-resistant, and make it weatherproof when used for external applications.

The gold lettering is then weeded from a large cut sheet and applied as per the approved digital artwork proof provided by our Graphic Designers.

This internal space now offers a sophisticated and modern wall display with a highly motivational message to students, visitors and staff.
