Signage for New Vegan Restaurant in Exeter, The Cheeky Vegan!

THE CLIENT

"It will be fully vegan and we are hoping to serve food like vegan burgers and vegan hotdogs, alongside vegan milkshakes. It's vegan junk food basically." - Emma Bates on Devon Live.

New to the Exeter high street right by the Cathedral, The Cheeky Vegan is the brainchild of new Devon resident, Emma Bates. Wanting to give an offering to Exeter's younger population, and those looking for a healthier alternative to eating out, The Cheeky Vegan is set to open very soon with a menu packed with plant-based alternatives to your favourite snacks, beverages, and meals.

THE BRIEF

Seasoned catering and hospitality worker Emma was visited by our Sales Team Member to talk about her vision for the new restaurant, taking over the old 'The Plant Cafe' vegan eatery. Looking for something young, fresh, contemporary, and easily re-configurable on later display products, the contrasting pink lettering on a bright blue background was a favourite.

When we conduct site visits with our clients, our incredibly knowledgeable Rep will discuss all possibilities for your signage, taking size, space availability, budget, and imagination into consideration. We have loads of visual aids and material samples for you to browse, and can slowly build your vision into reality with the help of our in-house Design Studio.

With the colouring, style, size, and font of the text set, the Design Team can create an artwork proof to show a mock-up of the final creation in its new home with images taken during the visit, see The Cheeky Vegans proof below.

THE SOLUTION

The new Fascia Board was created from cut ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) with a bright blue vinyl application, faced in Matt Laminate. We harp about this brilliant material for signage and display as it is perfectly suited for outdoor environments. Long-lasting, weather-resistant, and completely customisable, ACM can be attached to the shop front to cover old paneling as deformities for a smooth new application area.

We can either print directly onto the ACM, or most often, we print a heavy-duty, equally long-lasting vinyl with your chosen colour, pattern, or design so that display can be changed easily in the future, refreshed or completely rebranded.

A go-to contemporary solution, Stand-Off Lettering is a great way to get your business noticed and can take many forms! The Cheeky Vegan chose a full-colour printed pink acrylic, which we faced with a Matt Laminate overlay for added weather and colour protection. These are fixed to the ACM fascia panel using super-strong adhesive 16mm stand-off locators for a really eye-catching finish.

We also discussed the future possibilities to extend the branding in Pavements Signs and Cafe Banners for the future outdoor seating and eating area, but for now, focused on getting the restaurant face ready for opening.
