New Shop Signage and Interior Decoration for Touch of Vintage

THE CLIENT

"A Touch of Vintage, now with 'A Stitch in Lyme', was established in 2008 and is situated in Lyme Regis's pretty Georgian Broad Street. The fairyland craftsman built interior charms the eyes and warms the hearts of hundreds of loyal customers and visitors."

A pastel haven for any craft-lover, gift-seeker or collector of Emma Bridgewater mugs and ceramics, A Touch of Vintage is the perfect place to stop whilst in Lyme Regis to have a wonderful shopping experience and find an unusual piece to add to your home, jewellery or crafting collection.

DESIGNING THE SHOP FRONT SIGNAGE

The Touch of Vintage Team contacted Creative to redesign and install the new shop front fascia boards that would face the street, the vinyl inlay visible behind the window, and a custom vinyl floor path to lead customers to the stairs and access the second floor.

We hosted a great meeting to discuss their needs and wishes for their signage vision, and were kindly provided a sample of the perfect pink which was then colour mapped and rendered for the artwork proofs. Keeping the fairyland theme in-mind, our brilliant Design Team took inspiration from imagery, the customers requirements and items within the shop to allow the 3 panels to flow together with hand-drawn style images and a flowing typography for 'Stitch in Lyme', and a homage to the old fascia panel font for 'A Touch of Vintage'.

DESIGNING THE CUSTOM FLOOR PATH

Fitting the cross stich and crafty theme the upstairs floor of the store has, a quilted pattern background was chosen in the popular pastel colours and formed into a blanket style design. Imagery was then drawn and sourced to overlay this with, creating a custom, colourful and welcoming pathway, leading visitors to the stairs.

The vinyl used is digitally printed for maximum colour input, and has a very strong adhesive backing to allow for years of wear and tear, heavy use and cleaning chemicals.

The old floor vinyl for the Covid Social Distancing measures was removed and the area cleaned and measured for the new vinyl installation. Like the signage above, a proof is made to see the artwork design visually in its new home, and allows the client to make tweaks to the final product before printing.

THE SOLUTION

As with all signage and design pieces, we are incredibly fortunate to have a Design Team in-house welcome to take on all styles and visions for your project. It was great to work in sync with Touch of Vintage, and create something truly bespoke and custom to the setting, store and customer experience.

We are able to print full-colour, high-quality designs, photographs, patterns and branding onto a vast range of media. ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) is the most popular material for outdoor signage and display. It is incredibly hardwearing, lightweight and can withstand high exposure to all weather fronts. Faced in a laminated vinyl for the ultimate protection, it also means as your branding or shop front changes, it is future proof, and can be re-faced when needed without having to purchase the whole sign again.

The vinyl used on the internal pathway design is a high-quality slip-rated vinyl. Our durable floor graphics are great for turning retail environments and office floors into valuable advertising space.

If you are looking to update or get a new shop fascia board installed, please do contact us to talk over your requirements, and our in-house design team can help create your artwork. We offer no obligation quoting, and a vast array of materials to suit all your signage needs!
