Cricket St. Thomas Golf Club is located off the A30 near Chard in Somerset. The club has over 80 years of history and provides members and visitors alike the chance to play on a beautiful parkland course with outstanding views across the surrounding countryside.

Cricket St Thomas has flourished into much more than a golf course in recent years. Following the purchase in 2014 the new owners made a decision to re-brand from the former 'Windwhistle' and the club now has a newly renovated bar, restaurant, conference and wedding facilities. Making CST Golf Club the premier golfing and events destination in Somerset, where everyone is welcome!

THE BRIEF

Refreshing Existing Displays

Working with Cricket St Thomas for this display update was a breeze with a simple brief. The pre-existing display boards and stand-off locators had been installed some years ago, but were in great condition for this revival project. Each board was carefully removed from the wall and the holes marked for easy re-installation later.

The acrylic boards previously had an etched vinyl backing to give a clouded effect to each board as well as a photograph of the years Captain and list honouring previous role holders all the way back to the clubs inception.

As 2022 is a year for forward-thinking, innovative, contemporary and sharp design elements, acrylic offers a bountiful display option due to its incredible versatility. Clear Acrylic Signs need to be eye-catching to make a good first impression on customers or visitors. To create a contemporary and clean display, we will flame-polish the acrylic so it has a sharp and glass-like finish, without the risk of shattering or going cloudy with time. Each board was treated to a deep clean to remove the old vinyl layer, and a flame-polish treatment to sharpen those lines after years of service so far. The new vinyl print is then printed in reverse and applied to the back of each board, and perfectly aligned to match the artwork proof supplied by our in-house Graphic Design Team.

Once quality checked, it was time for the boards to go back to Cricket St Thomas Golf Club, and be re-mounted on the walls above the stairs. The stain chrome finish stand-off locator sign fixings give the display boards the perfect amount of depth and authority as you climb the stairs, whilst also allowing for easy cleaning front and back in a high-traffic area.
