Frameless Magnetic Whiteboard

Our custom printed frameless magnetic whiteboards turn any sized wall into a seamless, full-colour printed display. Built from a magnetic steel composite with a bonded dry-wipe laminate, edge-to-edge printing, and nine standard sizes from 600 x 450mm up to 2400 x 1200mm. Backed by a 5-year laminate guarantee as standard, manufactured in the UK, and supplied with a 10-working-day turnaround from artwork approval. Multiple boards sit flush together to cover complete walls, which is why they're specified by offices, schools, NHS trusts and lean manufacturing sites across the country.

What is a frameless magnetic whiteboard?

A frameless magnetic whiteboard is a dry-wipe board without an aluminium or wooden frame around its edge. Instead of a traditional framed construction, the writing surface runs flush to the edge of the panel, giving you maximum usable writing area for a given wall footprint and a cleaner, more contemporary look. A magnetic backing (in our case a steel composite core) lets you use dry-wipe markers and attach magnets, printed tiles, documents and photos.

The frameless design solves three problems that traditional framed boards don't. First, it eliminates the bulky border that wastes wall space around the writing area. Second, it allows multiple panels to be butted together with minimal visible join, so a 2400mm panel and a 1200mm panel installed side by side read as a single 3600mm whiteboard wall. Third, it gives the board an architectural, finished-wall appearance rather than the office-supply look of a traditional framed board.

Frequently Asked Questions

About our Frameless Printed Whiteboards

How is a frameless magnetic board mounted without visible fixings?

Panels are supplied with a fixing kit containing screws, rawl plugs and screw cover caps. You can order the board with pre-drilled fixing holes (positioned 20mm from each edge and colour-matched with the caps for a near-invisible finish) or with no drill holes if you'd rather drill on site. For larger installations, we can supply concealed rear fixings for a fully hidden mount. Panel weight ranges from 2kg at 600 x 450mm to 23kg at 2400 x 1200mm, so larger panels need to go into wall studs or a braced substrate.

Can I join multiple boards to cover a whole wall?

Yes. Our frameless panels are designed to butt together with a minimal visible join, creating a continuous printed surface across walls of any width. Artwork can run across panels so the join is almost invisible within the design. We'll help you plan the panel layout, fixings and artwork split for your specific wall dimensions.

What's the maximum size you can supply?

Standard sizes run up to 2400 x 1200mm as a single panel. For larger installations, we combine multiple panels. If you need a single-piece board larger than 2400 x 1200mm, contact the sales team to discuss the options (there are trade-offs on weight and handling at that size).

How does the 5-year laminate guarantee compare to a 10-year dye-sublimation board?

Dye-sublimation boards print directly into a coated steel surface, which is a different (and more expensive) manufacturing process. Our bonded laminate performs equivalently in real-world use, with proven ghosting resistance and the same pen tolerance. The main practical difference is that dye-sub is harder to customise at edge-to-edge across very large panels, which is why we use the steel composite and laminate construction for frameless wall installations. For a like-for-like comparison on a specific project, call us and we'll walk you through the options.

Can I add lines, grids, planners or logos to the print?

Yes. Our in-house design team can build almost any layout into the print, including weekly, monthly and yearly planners, SQCDP and lean frameworks, grid and line formats for maths, music or accountancy, bespoke table layouts for ward or theatre boards, and full branding with logos, backgrounds and corporate colours. If you have a layout in Word, PowerPoint or PDF, we can work from it. If you don't, a brief phone conversation is enough to get started.

How does the 10-day turnaround work?

The 10 working days run from the point you approve your digital artwork proof, not from the point you place the order. Once you order, we send the proof within 1-2 working days. You check it, request any changes, and sign it off. From that sign-off, production and delivery takes 10 working days. If you need it faster, our Express Service produces frameless boards from £58 on a shorter turnaround.
