Fascia and Window Graphics for RKL Tools & Hardware in Bridport

RKL Tools & Hardware has traded across Bridport, Axminster and Honiton since 1996, built on traditional values and personal service. Creative Solutions produced fascia and window signage for their premises, ready for the shop's grand opening on Easter Saturday 2026.

The hardware and home store carries a wide range – tools, kitchenware, key cutting, electrical and plumbing supplies, DIY and decorating – and a new shopfront needed to communicate all of that at a glance.

The challenge

RKL's product range doesn't fit into a single category the way many shops do. Squeezing "tools," "kitchen," "key cutting," "electrical," "plumbing" and "DIY" onto one fascia risked either overcrowding the signage or leaving half the offer invisible to anyone walking past.

The shop also needed to clearly announce its opening, giving existing RKL customers in Axminster and Honiton a reason to visit the new premises, while a passer-by with no prior knowledge of the brand still needed to understand what RKL sells within a few seconds of looking at the window.

The solution

Creative Solutions produced two-part fascia signage across the shopfront, splitting "RKL Tools & Hardware" and "RKL Home & Garden" into separate sections. The neat division gives each side of the business its own presence without either being lost.

Beneath the fascia, window graphics break the product range into clear categories – Kitchen & Bakeware, Key Cutting/Electrical & Plumbing, DIY & Decorating – each paired with simple icon illustrations of the products. A visitor can identify what RKL sells without reading a word, then confirm it with the labels. A large-format RKL logo applied directly to the glass reinforces the brand at a scale visible from across the street.

For the opening itself, a decorative window graphic announces the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting, framed to stand out from the surrounding product signage, alongside a simple list of RKL's three locations for customers who already know the brand from Axminster or Honiton.
