Fascia and Menu Board Signage for Lyme's Fish Bar in Lyme Regis

Lyme's Fish Bar has been serving fish and chips in Lyme Regis since 1983. Creative Solutions produced signage and branded outdoor menus across the business's two trading sites – Coombe Street and a second site at East View.

A business trading across two sites, each serving a different function for customers, needs its identity to hold up in different settings: close-up on a shopfront and kiosk counter and at a distance from the seafront wall.

The challenge

The East View site benefits from a prime seafront location, serving customers from both a beachside kiosk and street-facing premises. Because of this dual setup, the signage must catch the eye from both directions. At the counter, the menu needs a clean, easy-to-read layout that spans everything from classic fish and chips to burgers, pasties and kids' meals.

With several competing food outlets sitting side by side along the promenade, the storefront fascia has to work hard to stand out. Prominently displaying the Lyme’s Fish Bar name alongside the "East View" heritage and 1983 date allows the business to proudly showcase its decades of experience.

The solution

Creative Solutions produced fascia signage and a full bespoke menu board for the East View site, carrying the "Lyme's Fish Bar" name and fish motif, alongside a complete, clearly priced menu fixed directly to the building. The lettering style and layout remain consistent with the fascia above it, so the kiosk and street signage read as a single identity.

At the original Coombe Street shop, a wall-mounted promotional panel reinforces the business's key messages – fresh fish, homemade chips, made on the premises – alongside contact details and takeaway information, giving the original site its own branded signage, distinct from East View.
