Bridport Medical “Jurassic Coast” Logo Design

THE CLIENT & THE BRIEF

Bridport Medical Centre provides NHS Healthcare over the Bridport area, but is also part of the Jurassic Coast Primary Care Network.

Branding exercise for Bridport Medical Centre, to produce a new logo for "Jurassic Coast Healthcare PCN". To provide a choice of logo options, incorporating an ammonite fossil into the design.

Producing simple brand guidelines on the use of colour, fonts and their usage.

THE SOLUTION

Discussions with the client provided a clearer direction of colourways and also creative expectations. The creative requirements were that they wanted an ammonite. However, they wanted something designed that was unique graphically. Being based in the Jurassic coast area, the use of ammonites in logo designs is very widely used.

The studio researched the use of the ammonite graphic within logo/branding to find the common trend, look and feel. From this research, we could narrow our creative options to ensure a unique, bespoke design was created.

One logo design stood out from the pack and we produced this in various colours and different dimensions eg. portrait version and landscape version. The studio then selected 4 of the best alternatives to present as a backup. The studio team’s prefered option was chosen with only a few minor design amendments. This reinforces the studio’s ability to fully understand the client's requirements and exceed their expectations.
