As written by Leigh from the Creative Studio;
Currently, in the news, there is a lot concerning the spread of plastic waste and general refuse within our oceans. Paul at The Anchor Inn in Seatown, Dorset, came up with the good idea that benefits his lovely beach and the environment.
Customers are supplied with a litter picker device and a bucket. Every full bucket gets a free hot drink.
The studio's challenge was to take the clients “Word” poster design and make it more in keeping with the brand. We wanted to have a poster that looks professional, that stands out and communicates well.
Three creative design proposals were created. Our first hurdle was the fact that we wanted the image to look attractive, but using rubbish and litter images made this a challenge.
One of the designs uses a litter image but we used a high res branded image of a cappuccino to negate this image and entice the customer but also relaying an important message.
The second design was purely typography based so the need for imagery was not needed.
From this, a winner was chosen with a few design tweaks and amalgamation of a few designs. The main key is that imagery and typography are always key to a good design and the final design I feel this works well.
