New Art & Illustration Gift Shop, Dollyhotdog's Joins Axminster High Street

Living in Devon, Michelle is an artist with a passion for still life and food Illustration and is heavily influenced by the beautiful coastal scenery and locally produced goods that are a country-life staple. Working alongside Michelle is the brilliant Kate who got on board to help Michelle develop the business with a background in marketing and business development. Michelle goes by the name Dollyhotdogs, a childhood name that seems to have stuck! She has been mastering her craft for many years working in a range of creative professions from book illustration, magazines and fine art. The Dollyhotdog's range now spans a range of homeware, furnishings, artwork, display and gifts embracing her creative talents.

The Dollyhotdog's dream is to produce bold and beautiful home furnishings, textiles and giftware to bring the beauty of the glorious Devon coast and countryside into the home. Opening soon on the Axminster High Street, Dollyhotdog's will be a positive treasure trove of delights, so we set to work bringing Michelle and Kate's creative vision to life...

THE BRIEF

Refreshing Existing Displays

Working with Michelle to turn her vision of the new shop into a reality was a breeze. A natural designer, it was a pleasure to take her concepts and creations, and recreate them on signage and display media to adorn the shop. With any new shop opening, its a great opportunity to take a blank canvas and really make it your own. No corner has been left untouched, and will either have a custom made print, display case full of products or installation to catch your eye.

As with any project large or small, we will always take your vision through our in-house Graphic Design Team, this offers a perfect opportunity to see your artwork in its final format, and give the sign-off that you're happy for it to go to print. It is also an incredible resource to utilise if you yourself are not a graphic designer; our team can assist you throughout the design element for your product in a friendly and open approach, with no tweak or colour change an issue.

First and foremost was the need for a new Bespoke Shop Front Fascia Sign. We created this using anACM Panel, wrapped in a 7-year self-adhesive vinyl to match the Dollyhotdog's branding colours. ACM is an incredible signage open as it is lightweight, easy to fit and can be custom cut and wrapped to suit all requirements. Once the panel was finished in its rich dark blue vinyl wrap, we then applied the stand-off snap-fix locators that will support the stand-off lettering. Each letter has been laser-cut and smoothed by hand from coloured acrylic.

To complete the first round of installations, our team expertly applied the large window and door graphics that wrap the front of the shop and entrance. These are printed in reverse and applied to the inside of the glass, so from the outside they appear the correct way around.
