Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support

Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support aims to provide support for everyone living with and beyond cancer. The team offer regular friendly meetings both in Axminster and Lyme Regis so support and information can be accessed locally.

Axminster and Lyme Cancer support was set up in 2018 by Mary Kahn, following a diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer in 2017. Although there was some great support available online and further afield having a network of support locally was missing with the closest centres in Dorchester or Exeter.

Since 2018 the need for support has grown enormously, with over 500 people registered to receive assistance from the ALCS team.

THE BRIEF

New Location Signage

We couldn't be more proud to work with such a fantastic and much-needed local charity, Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support in supplying signage at Axminster Hospital ahead of their grand opening on the 8th of November 2023.

The new site needed a full array of branded signs to take ownership of the space whilst also allowing visitors to orient themselves and way-find with ease.

For both the internal and external wall, fence and railing mounted signs we used ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) a budget-friendly, lightweight, and incredibly versatile signage material that can have prints mounted to its surface and be laminated for that all-important long-lasting display. We used a external grade high-tack self-adhesive vinyl for the letter box graphic and large reception desk graphic both with a full-colour print. Lastly we used a popular silver etch vinyl window vinyl applied to the inside of the glass to show the wonderful take on the cancer awareness ribbon with the bottoms holding hands to create a highly visible window manifestation on the external glass doors.

THE SOLUTION | ACM

Aluminium Composite Material Panel Signage

ACM is two smooth aluminium sheets, sandwiched on either side of a strong plastic core. ACM can be directly printed for short-term signage displays, or in most cases, your signage will be printed onto a high-tack vinyl which is then protected with an overlaminate before being mounted to the ACM.

We host a range of lamination finishes and warranties to suit your needs, offering a 1, 5 or 7-year guarantee. The laminates we use are UV-resistant, weatherproof, colour fade-resistant and easy to wipe clean when maintaining your signage. They will easily stand the test of time and any weather front, as we often create signage for south-facing buildings near the sea!

As you can see from the images below, ACM is incredibly versatile and can be fitted with rear channelling for post-mounting, riveted to fences and screwed securely to metal, wood and cladded building exteriors.

THE SOLUTION | SELF-ADHESIVE STICKERS

High-Tack Self-Adhesive Printed Signage

Our high tack self-adhesive vinyl is perfectly suited to adhere to low-energy surfaces or surfaces that would otherwise be tricky to adhere to such as plastered walls, sports equipment, rough walls, painted metals or anywhere the bonding isn't perfect. It is made for easy application and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Like ACM above, it is printed and then overlaminated to give it a 5-7year life expectancy depending on the surface it is being mounted to and the conditions it will need to face.

Silver Etch Window Vinyl Manifestation

Glass and window manifestations are designed to be applied to glass window, doors and partitions to help stop people walking into the glass and possibly causing injury. In an openly welcoming environment like ALCS, awareness is key so a bold and on-brand design was chosen to be visible at two heights for ultimate visibility.
