Established in 1992 as W.G. Potter, but having operating since the early 80's, this family-run business offers the local community around Bridport, Ottery St Mary, Axminster, Seaton & Honiton an encompassing end-of-life service to lay loved ones to rest.

THE BRIEF

Refreshing Old Fascia Signage

Looking to update and refresh the faded signage on the front of their Axminster location, our client got in touch to start the process and book a site visit so we could take accurate measurements and gauge the extent of the refresh required.

As the wooden fascia panelling on the front of the office was failing, it was decided this needed to be battened, with a new longer longer-lasting fascia panelling installed in front. The team were looking to replicate the original signage with their silver lettering and dark plum banner underneath to match their accent colour and the paintwork around the windows so we headed down with a load of paint swatches to get an exact RAL match for our printers to replicate this is in the new ACM panelling.

Also needing updating was the ACM Window Panel Display that blocks the view into a back room from the front of the building with updated imagery, typography and spacing to tie together the branding and professional signage installation.

THE SOLUTION

ACM Fascia Panels & Stand Off Lettering

ACM is an incredibly versatile, lightweight and budget-friendly signage material, perfectly suited to long-term external applications in a range of settings for shop front fascia displays. For W.G. Potter's new fascia panel, the original fascia was stripped back and battened with wooden beams to allow for new ACM panelling to be securely mounted.

The full width of the fascia was spilt into 3 sections to allow for easier mounting as well as updating in the future if required. Each panel is faced with a high-tack self-adhesive vinyl printed in black with the W.G. Potter plum purple band at the bottom. These are then finished with a gloss laminate to keep the signage UV-protected, weather and fade resistant and looking great for years to come.

Once mounted onto the wooden battens, each of the powder coated aluminium letters finished with a white aluminium gloss paint can then be mounted onto their stand-off fixings and perfectly positioned onto the fascia panels for an even and centred text display.

The last part is to install the cut vinyl text that sits within the plum purple banner - this is applied separately and not included into the print design to keep it future proof for updates and information changes. It also means the text remains crisp and clear against the plum background. Our external grade vinyls come in a range of single colours, as well as printable options for all branding displays. We also offer a range of lamination guarantees from 1 -7 years so your signage can remain in place until you either need an update or branding change-over.
