Retail Signs for Bishops Sport & Leisure

THE CLIENT

Bishop Sports & Leisure—located in Farnham Royal, Berkshire—specialise in providing sports equipment to the educational sector, local authorities, holiday/leisure centres and the general public.

As a company, they are dedicated to the task of providing high-quality equipment that can withstand the rigorous play conditions found in educational and leisure establishments. They endeavour to offer goods and services at a highly competitive price, ensuring enough equipment is available to nurture and increase sporting participation.

THE BRIEF

In an effort to update the internal aesthetics of their retail outlet, Bishops Sports and Leisure were looking for a series of direct printed PVC boards. The artwork of these boards would promote the Edventure range available at the store; each individual panel would feature high-definition images of children engaging in various sporting activities.

PVC boards are purpose-built for internal signage briefs such as this. Indeed, their surface has been designed with direct ultraviolet printing specifically in mind—meaning any image, branding or artwork can be brought to life in stunning high-definition.

Because the print is of such fine quality, PVC boards can be used for a variety of different display purposes. They’re the perfect choice for exhibition panels, indoor and outdoor signage—any situation that requires a high-quality, durable display at a reasonable price.

PVC is supplied in a range of thicknesses, colour and densities. These features depend entirely on the cost and quality of the board and its application.

THE SOLUTION

We provided the client with 5 full-colour prints of the various sporting and activity images; the artwork was then applied directly to 5mm PVC boards and finished with matte laminate.

The boards are fully self-adhesive, ensuring that the product is straightforward to install for the client in whatever location they desire. For a subtle, stylish final aesthetic, the panels were finished with 10mm rounded corners.

Despite these being a cost-effective display option—compared, say, to the photographic Forex Print PVC boards—there’s no doubt that image quality is of an extremely high standard.

Each panel is bursting with colour and clarity. Bishop Sports and Leisure couldn’t have been happier with the final result.
