Outdoor Signs for Highgrove Close Mobile Home Park

THE CLIENT

The Highgrove Close Mobile Home Park is built on the renowned Park Home Estate in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Since 1982, the estate has undergone two distinct phases of development; the most recent of which was carried out by Blue Sky Homes, an experienced Norfolk-based holiday park and leisure operator, in the early-1990s.

It was the mobile home park’s latest owner who contacted Creative Solutions with an interesting design brief.

THE BRIEF

Having just recently purchased the park at Highgrove Close, the new owner required an outdoor sign which would display the business’ name and contact information. The sign would be attached to a wooden post with all the relevant details clearly visible.

In addition to this, the client also needed us to design and create a secondary sign—its purpose to discourage cold callers from the property.

For an outdoor signage brief such as this, we would nearly always recommend using aluminium composite material (ACM) boards. They are by far the most fit-for-purpose outdoor signage option available. Being super rigid and 100% waterproof, they are able to withstand all manner of adverse weather conditions. The product is highly versatile and can be attached to a number of different surfaces and structures: walls, wooden frames, or in this case, a wooden post.

What’s more, the smooth surface makes for the perfect substrate for high-definition UV printing.

THE SOLUTION

The design process took one hour; in that time we were able to create print-ready artwork, using the brief provided by the client as a starting point.

For both the business information and the smaller, cold callers signs, we supplied full-colour self-adhesive prints with a matte laminate finish—these prints were then applied to 0.3mm ACM skin board.

The most important feature for both signs is their clarity; the details need to be easily discernible for anyone visiting the site. This is achieved not only by the quality of the print, but by the choice of colour combinations and font.

On each sign, the typeface is simple, black capitals on a lighter background. As you can see from the images, the end result is very effective.
