Van Signwriting for Rural Ranges' VW Transporter

Rural Ranges are the South’s leading range cooker specialists, certified by the official AGA training centre and a member of The Rayburn Guild. They have a first-class reputation with work overseen by Steve Smith, the founder.

THE BRIEF

Design, produce and install vehicle graphics

We were recently contacted by the business owner, Steve, who had taken delivery of a new van - a VW Transporter T6. We were asked to design, produce and install new vehicle graphics. We’d previously done the same work on Steve’s old van, but this time around he wanted something a little more modern and eye-catching. We met with Steve to discuss his needs, a few materials and costs.

THE SOLUTION

Graphic design, expert printing and installation

We’ve worked on a few VW Transporters recently and have digitally produced 2D templates we can use to design graphics perfectly. Our design team took Steve’s ideas from an initial brief to a workable concept. We created a few iterations. Steve signed off his favourite, and printing began the next day at our dedicated site in Axminster.

For this application, Metamark M7 series vinyl was chosen. This boasts a 7-year guarantee and a 140gsm liner. It’s a high-quality vinyl that works very well on vehicles. The colours used were Gold M7-19, White Gloss M7-100, Black Gloss M7-110 and Light Grey M7-121, a lovely combination that matches the Rural Ranges brand.

Printing was performed on our digital printer and plotter. Once the vinyl was printed, we booked the van in for installation. The van was delivered to us clean, so only a final prep was needed to get the surface perfect. The vinyl was installed over a full day by our experienced team, and the results are spectacular. Steve’s delighted with the work.
