Is Planning Permission Required for my Pavement Sign?
There is no hard and fast rule regarding council policy on pavement sign and A-board placement. Policies vary throughout the country with most councils turning a blind eye if they are to not too large or obstruct the free movement of pedestrians.
We recommend that pavement signs have no sharp corners for health and safety reasons.
Pavement signs should not be left outside in high winds because of possible injury that can be sustained if a pavement sign is blown over during adverse weather. Therefore a pavement sign that is easily moved has considerable advantages over heavier models.
Some councils consider that pavement signs should be attached to a secure post or restraining bracket to prevent them from being stolen. We’ve sold 1000’s over the past twelve years and never had anyone report to us that their original one was stolen.
