In Praise of Magnetic Dry White Whiteboards
27 January 2011 by
I have decided that as soon as I move into my new home, I will set up a study room, and get a custom sized, printed, Magnetic Dry Wipe Whiteboard that covers one entire wall. Decision Made.
Having had one installed in my office at work, I now don't know how I ever got myself organised before it arrived. It really is a thing of beauty.
I have used magnetic strips to divide it up - which I can them move about and change the layout of my grid as, and when, I like.
I scribble appointments and lists of things to do with a non- permanent marker - and of course cross them out as they get done. (if you are a list maker by nature you will know that this is the greatest pleasure in making a list).
I have a whole load of shiny little magnets that I use to tag up notes, business cards and reminders. I now tend to fix any notes for a meeting up on the board alongside the appointment time.
The system works a treat. The board looks fantastic. I now have more desk space - having found a home for all the weekly reminder notes, I tend to generate. And I am to be getting through my 'things to do' with greater efficiency. There is something about having the breath and shape of my week up there on the board that is very satisfying.
My board at work is the standard white. which works perfectly with the decor in my office. However, I am thinking... when I get one for the study in my new home, I will get it custom printed - a lot of our clients have tables, grids or their logos custom printed. At home, I think I will either go for a blown up photo image, or even just a single colour, that will work well in the room...can't wait.
