This year make your Banner Stands 'Better.'

20 January 2011 by

Once again exhibition season is upon us - with all the excitement, possibilities, and dare I say it, hard work that it involves.

If you've chosen a banner stands for your show, then you already know that they are a really versatile medium: a great choice. Here are some ideas to help you get the most out of them, and make the maximum impact.

What have you got to say for yourself? Believe me when I say your audience desperately wants to be engaged, excited and inspired. If you can give them that you are on to a winner.  So think really carefully - what is your story? What are you offering them at this show? If the audience is only going to remember one thing from your banner stand, what is it going to be?

Hit them with it! What you position at eye-level must be absolutely compelling. Are you going for words or pictures? What is your key message, your key story, for this exhibition?  Pare it down to its bare bones, distil it further till you are left with its concentrated pure essence, and then hit them with it!

Don't waste ‘any' space The bottom 36" is generally considered the least effective area to use for important information. However, it represents lot of space that you are paying for, so get creative about how you get peoples attention. Play with different design strategies: ‘grab and guide', ‘jig-sawing', ‘long range high impact.'

Keep it Simple You want to get your point across and for it to be remembered, right?  Think clean. Think clear. Think high impact.  Use bullet point with caution - after all, this is a show. No one wants to feel like they are reading a page of your annual report.

Technically Speaking... To make an impact, your images MUST sing!  To create show stopping banner stands, you need pin-sharp graphics. Anything less that 300dpi @ 25% in CMKY isn't going to cut the mustard. Of course we check you artwork when it comes in, but this is good for you to be aware of this when talking with your designers.

Also, it is really worth baring in mind that all our products that accept graphics have templates available through our website.  Just click on the ‘Templates' or ‘File Set Up' guide.
