Making an impression on a tight budget

How many exhibitions have you been to in the last year? How many stands really made an impression on you? How many can you actually remember? Honestly? And if what you remember are the custom built, big-budget constructions, perhaps you feel that on your budget you are unlikely to ever make that kind of impact. Absolutely not true.
At the last exhibition I visited, which was a business-to-business event, the only stand that made any impression at all, (and believe me when I say I really wanted to be impressed and inspired), consisted of nothing more complicated than a series of beautifully designed, emaculately printed and perfectly lit pop-up banner stands decorated with a curtain made up of origami peices in the shape of the company logo - a bird.
A really simple, elegant and inexpensive idea, that really helped the company stand out.
